[ 006 ] [ audio // common ] [ who the hell is that? ]
What the crap?
[My goodness, doesn't Mordecai sound thrilled with the addition of whispering voices pleading for help.]
I don't want to help shit. Get out of my head and get off my comm.
[That's right voices, he's talking to you.]
The rest of you, what the hell is going on?
[WHAT DID YOU PASSENGERS DO NOW?]

Bet you do see a lotta weird stuff, then.

I see my share, kill a fair few as well. The planet I was working on before I got here, Pandora, had these big dog things with disjointed jaws, giant ants that crawl out of the sand and spit acid. All kinds of crazy shit.

...Whoa. That sounds like...lots of fun.

[He's almost impressed, save for the mention of military. Mordecai has only met one military man he actually got along with, and that man had left it all behind.]
Oh it is.
[Can you hear the smile in his voice, Mikaela? There's a certain fondness when he starts talking about his work.]

[Well, she can certinly understand liking your work.]
So what's it like...being on different planets and stuff?

[Lucky for the rest of the passengers, Mordecai hasn't gone stir crazy just yet.]
You get places that are nice, just like Earth was and then others that are shitholes. Pandora was a desert wasteland with no water and a bunch of mining hicks and military factions running the show.
But at least you could breathe the air without choking.

Wow. I've never left earth except to be here. We don't really have that capability, unless you're like...an astronaut.

[Did they destroy it? Or simply seek out other planets to explore? Sadly, Canon doesn't say. :(]
Inter-planetary travel is pretty damn common where I'm from. The transport lands, I go have a drink or two, get myself a few contracts and then head out to do whatever. When the job's done I collect my payment, have another drink or three and either stick around and see what else comes up or get the hell out of there.

[Until recently Mikaela hadn't ever even left the west coast.]
